Eta Sigma Phi是拉丁语和/或希腊语学生的荣誉大学社团.  会员是由协会特许的地方分会选举产生的.

历史:Eta Sigma Phi成立于1914年，当时芝加哥大学希腊系的一群学生组织了一个大学生古典俱乐部，希腊语和拉丁语的优秀学生被选为会员.  这个组织后来与西北大学的一个类似组织合并，成为Eta Sigma Phi.  1924年，该协会成为全国性的协会, 在主要的学院和大学组织了分会.  该协会于1927年根据伊利诺伊州法律成立.

PURPOSE:  The Constitution of Eta Sigma Phi states that the purposes of the society are “to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students of colleges and universities; to promote closer fraternal relationship among students who are interested in classical study, including inter-campus relationship; to engage generally in an effort to stimulate interest in classical study, 在历史上, 艺术, 以及古希腊和古罗马的文学.”
